The Guam Homeless Coalition won t be going out to count unsheltered homeless this year, due to COVID-19.
The coalition does an annual Point-In-Time Homeless Count around this time of the year to get a snapshot of what the homeless population is like on island.
The goal is an unduplicated count on a single day of homeless individuals and families in sheltered and unsheltered locations. The count is an annual project of the Guam Homeless Coalition and is mandated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Because of COVID-19 concerns, HUD is allowing Guam to figure out other ways it can get a sense of the homeless population on the island.
