On Higher Ground, who lowered the local seasonal standard on the trot to 1:51.4 last Saturday, lowered it again this Saturday (May 27) while lowering his own mark in the $25,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania.
Bettors Donttell, a 1:47.3 winner last year, improved off a third in his 2022 debut to take the $18,000 fast-class pace in 1:52.3 Saturday afternoon (April 1) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania.
They turned for home in a $74,435 division of a Pennsylvania Sire Stake (PaSS) Sunday at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, and the two favourites were battling – the one with the driver with 14 lifetime wins in North America on the lead, the one with the driver with 12,982 wins coming on.
