Pochury Black Day memorial cup kicks off

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): The 9th edition of Pochury Black Day Memorial Cup organised by the Pochury Students’ Union (PSU) kicked off on Friday at Meluri town local ground, with president of Pochury Hoho, Chonpa Jurry, as the special guest. PSU in an update informed that in the first match, Immortals FC beat United Brothers Club 3 – 1 and in the second match Shining Star edged past Shilloi Sporting Club 2 – 1. The tournament is held every year to commemorate ‘Pochury Black Day’ and also “with the vision to preserve, protect and promote our unique identity and to spread the importance of our history (through sports) in which our forefathers had sacrificed their lives for the cause of Naga Nation,” it stated. Nagaland: Pochury students caution against temporary solution

Dimapur, Sep. 6 (EMN): While reminding that enough blood had been shed and untold torture meted to the Nagas in their struggle for freedom, president of Pochury Students’ Union (PSU), Müphatho Nyuthe, has called upon the people to stand as one and not be enticed with packages and temporary solution. Speaking at the 62nd Pochury Black Day programme at Freedom Park in Matikhrü village under Meluri sub-division in Phek district on September 6, organised by the Pochury Students’ Union, Müphatho Nyuthe has discouraged the Naga freedom fighters in forming new groups for self-benefit in the pretext of taking the Naga issue forward. He further urged the negotiating parties to expedite the talks and stated that the solution should be honorable, inclusive, acceptable and lasting in the interest of younger generation.
