PNCA to pay tribute to ‘Uncle Sargam’ tomorrow

Islamabad: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) will organise a condolence reference to pay a tribute to Farooq Qaiser known as ‘Uncle Sargam’ on May 20.
PNCA Director General Dr Fouzia Saeed, film expert and in-charge PNCA Film Section Ijaz Gul, Salima Hashmi, Arshad Mahmood, other personalities and members of his family would shed light on the life and contributions of prominent puppeteer.
He was died of cardiac arrest at the age of 75 on Friday. Farooq Qaiser, best known as ‘Uncle Sargam’, was a household name for Pakistani kids of the 80s and 90s, said DG PNCA.
PNCA announces result of talent hunt contest

Islamabad : Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Monday announced the result of week-20 of PNCA talent hunt music edition.
The first Jury award won by Abdul Manan, second Jury award by Farhan Ali and third award won by Ofaz Yousaf.
PNCA Director General Dr Fouzia Saeed has announced the results in online video on PNCA official page.
She said PNCA would also provide opportunities to the winners and special nominees in it’s upcoming concerts and music functions.
PNCA has started this programme for the promotion of classical and semi-classical to folk, modern tunes and pop singing among the younger generation and to groom their hidden talent at the National Art Gallery.

Islamabad: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Sunday announced the results of week-18 of PNCA talent hunt music edition.
The first Jury award won by Suhail Ahmed Pirazdo, second Jury award by Moiz Abbas and third award won by Ali Hamza Kazmi.
PNCA also announced special nominees including Sana Nemat, Irfan Haider Guglee, Raheel Khokar and Ali Qasim for their outstanding performance.
The results announced by Director General PNCA in a video message, she said PNCA would also provide opportunities to the winners and special nominees in its upcoming functions.
PNCA sets up regional office at GB

Islamabad: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) opens up its regional office at Gilgit Baltistan (GB). The office was formally inaugurated by the GB’s Minister for Tourism, Sports, Culture and Archaeology, and Youth Affairs, Raja Nasir Ali Khan on Thursday.
Dr Fouzia Saeed DG PNCA, Sumair Ahmed Syed, Secretary Tourism, Sports and Culture GB, Zafar Taj a cultural personality and Secretary, Agriculture and PNCA’s Board member Taqi Akhunzada were also present at the occasion. Shafqat Mehmood , Federal Minister for National Heritage was also going to be present, however, due to flight cancellation he could not come. He sent a special message expressing his intentions to be actively engaged with GB in future.
