The Winter s Tale — A Public Works Musical ⋆ Princeton, NJ Local News

This original Public Works adaptation of The Winter’s Tale, with music and new lyrics by Todd Almond, was originally conceived and directed by Lear deBessonet based on the play by William Shakespeare. Directed at Princeton by faculty member Shariffa Ali, our musical, set in dystopian Sicilia and utopian Bohemia and inspired by Afrofuturism, centers community participation through a story of love, betrayal and redemption. Featuring Princeton student actors alongside a local community ensemble cast. Tickets required.

The Playhouse Ensembles Present: Story Time

Please join the Playhouse Ensembles for their spring “Story Time” concert in the Lewis Art Complex’s Wallace Theater! Featuring compositions and arrangements by current members of the ensemble, a Princeton alum, and two world premieres composed collaboratively through workshops held this spring, it’s sure to be a special evening!  The program includes original works by Halle Mitchell ’23, Aaron Ventresca ’24, Val Vigoda ’87, Kenyon Duncan, and Jim Papoulis, along with freshly commissioned arrangements that reimagine songs from Princess and the Frog, Dear Evan Hansen, Merrily We Roll Along, Shuffle Along, Into the Woods, and more don’t miss it!
