A hiker found a body in Naugatuck near the Naugatuck River Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Naugatuck Police confirmed they responded to the area of Platts Mill Road at Radnor Avenue for the report around 4 p.m. The body has yet to be identified.
The investigation is ongoing and no other details were immediately available. The road is closed in the area.

NAUGATUCK Officials are investigating after a body was found in Naugatuck on Tuesday.
Police and fire officials responded to the Platts Mill Road and Radnor Avenue area “to investigate a possible body in the Naugatuck River” around 3:41 p.m., according to a post from Naugatuck police.
Police say emergency responders confirmed the person was dead. State police’s Central District Major Crime Squad assisted town police detectives with processing the scene.
“Additional support was provided by Beacon Falls Fire Department Water Rescue team,” police said in the post. “The investigation into this incident is ongoing at this time.” ....

NAUGATUCK A body was found in the Naugatuck River in the area of Platts Mill Road and Radnor Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said a hiker walking in the area spotted what he believed to be a body in the river at about 3:40 p.m. and called police. Emergency personnel located the body and confirmed the person was deceased. The body was on a dry area in the river.
As of 9 p.m. Tuesday, emergency personnel were still on the scene investigating. No information was available as to the identity of the person or the circumstances that led to the body ending up in the river. ....
