Designed to empower early-stage Nigerian start-ups that are solving challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK government, in January through the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub launched it’s iNOVO Accelerator Programme. This programme is for 10 early stage start-ups building innovative solutions to tackle the challenges caused by COVID-19 across the Education, Agriculture and Health sector in Nigeria.
In partnership with StartupBootcamp Afritech and Ventures Platform as implementing partners, this 3-month virtual programme afforded the top 10 selected start-ups an opportunity to receive capacity building and learn start-up training, mentorship and support to scale, their products and business models rapidly. ....

VPF & National Endowment for Democracy call for tech solutions to protect Nigerians’ human rights during COVID-19 response
Ventures Platform Foundation (VPF), the social impact arm of Ventures Platform Hub, has launched a call for applications for its latest incubation programme, Gov Labs – a 12-week programme for tech solutions implementing accountability and transparency within the Nigerian government’s COVID-19 response. Created with support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), the new initiative will support Civil Society Organizations from across Nigeria as they build innovative solutions promoting good governance and wide scale access to public services.
From the pool of applicants, five organisations will be selected and will each receive a $2,500 grant as well as access to mentorship, technical support and networking opportunities. During the 12-week period, participants will also work alongside key experts in policy advocacy, citizen engagement ....
