Balcan buys film maker Nelmar Group

Canadian film extruder Balcan Plastics Ltd. has purchased Montreal-based Nelmar Group, which includes Nelmar Security Packaging Systems Inc., Plastixx Extrusion Technologies Inc. and Plastixx FFS Technologies Inc.

The deal with St. Léonard, Quebec-based Balcan will further the long-term growth objectives of the Nelmar, a Feb. 16 news release said, and will enhance Balcan s existing portfolio of products.
Balcan and Nelmar did not immediately respond to separate requests for comment by
