Bernie Sanders of Vermont introduced an 18-page bill, the “For the 99.5% Act.” The act calls for lowering the federal estate tax exemption at death for individuals from the current $11.7 million ($23.4 million if married) to $3.5 million ($7 million if married) at death. Estates under the exemption amount are not subject to the federal estate tax at death. ....
