Police officers from across Delaware County turned out to honor Delaware County Park Police Superintendent Scott Mahoney, 47, who died suddenly last week from complications due to COVID-19. Mahoney had been hospitalized for over a week with the virus. Hundreds of officers saluted and a bagpiper played in front of St. Pius X Church as Mahoney’s flag-draped coffin was carried out with his family following behind. “He dedicated his life to the people of Delaware County. His funeral today was a fitting tribute to him and his family,” said John Viola, president of the Delaware County Police Chiefs Association. ....
