Jewish resilience is practiced in a crisis through the narrative we tell ourselves about where we come from, what we believe and do, and why. We can write a new global narrative of resilience that encompasses the past and imagines a better future as a joint effort between Israeli and world Jewry.
Hundreds gathered at Prospect Drive in Schenley Park at 3 p.m. on Friday in remembrance of the Pittsburgh Tree of Life synagogue massacre that occurred five years ago on Oct. 27, taking the lives of 11 and wounding six others. Hosted by the 10.27 Healing Partnership, the commemoration featured a candle lighting ceremony by victims’ families, music performances and speeches by various community leaders.
