The payment is overseen by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), responsible for ensuring Britons receive the amount to which they are entitled. PIP as a payment from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), could therefore provide assistance to those with arthritis or a range of other conditions. Arthritis is common within the UK, and is a condition which causes pain and inflammation in the joints. The NHS estimates more than 10 million people currently have arthritis or other similar joint conditions, across the country. Of these, then, many could stand to benefit from a PIP payments to assist them with their day-to-day lives. PIP has replaced DLA, which is ending for people aged between 16 and 64. However, those aged under 16 who qualify for DLA can continue to receive payments under this state support. Additionally, those who were born on or before April 8 1948 may also remain eligible for DLA. Those who are receiving DLA will be able to continue to do so until the DWP invites them to apply for PIP. Regardless, recipients of PIP will wish to receive the full amount to which they are entitled, and additional payments will be welcomed. Those claiming PIP will be used to receiving payments from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), however, some could receive an additional sum from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
