Chile will once again try to resolve the mystery of what really killed Nobel laureate poet Pablo Neruda, who many believe was poisoned by the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, a court said Tuesday.Pinochet, who ruled Chile for 17 years, oversaw a regime that killed some 3,200 leftist activists and other suspected opponents.
During the 16 years of Pinochet s reign, 1,100 people were officially registered as "forcibly disappeared." Only 104 bodies were ever found, although local communities put this figure much higher.
