Charles County Public Schools Updates Plan for Graduation of 2021 Class | Southern Maryland News Net

May 26, 2021 Elements in the plans have evolved for Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) high school graduations on May 28 through June 3 at Regency Furniture Stadium. As of May 20, students will receive five guest tickets to graduation, along with two parking passes. One parking pass is for a space at the stadium, the other is for a spot at neighboring St. Charles High School. Guests are not permitted to park along the street or on the access road between the stadium and the school. This being a school-sponsored event, guests must wear face masks when entering the stadium. Those who arrive without a mask will be given one at the gate. Once guests arrive at their seats, they may remove their masks or keep them on depending on their comfort level. Social distancing is encouraged between groups of guests.

Police in Charles County Investigating Shooting and Car Crash on Lambeth Hill Drive Near Renner Road, in Waldorf | Southern Maryland News Net

December 11, 2020 On Thursday, December 10, 2020, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to several calls for a possible shooting in the area of Lambeth Hill Drive in Waldorf. Callers indicated the occupants in two vehicles were shooting at each other. When officers arrived, they located a Volkswagen Jetta, which had been left abandoned, on Renner Road near Lambeth Hill Drive; the vehicle had damage from gunfire. Officers then found an abandoned BMW on Renner Road near Piney Church Road. The occupants of both vehicles had fled. Officers also located a citizen who crashed his car after being forced to swerve off the roadway to avoid being struck by one of the fleeing vehicles. The driver of that car was not injured.
