BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Early Thursday morning, a group of about 50 protesters gathered outside Bend Senior High School to voice their concerns at the first of several COVID-19 vaccination clinics being held at high schools around Central Oregon. But nearly 200 students received the shots anyway, officials said.
Starting Thursday, youth 16 and older, which is considered one of the fastest-growing COVID-19 positive age groups in the state, will be able to receive their vaccine for free.

Nearly 4,000 local high school students from communities throughout Central Oregon will be eligible to take part in upcoming free vaccination clinics at local high schools, thanks to a regional partnership with local school districts, Mosaic Pediatrics, La Pine Community Health Center, St. Charles Health System, Deschutes County Health Services and Crook County Health Department.
The first event of its kind in Oregon, the High School COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics project will reduce barriers to vaccine accessibility among our youth while building healthier communities worldwide. Outdoors ceremonies planned, unless county drops into Extreme Risk COVID-19 category
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Bend-La Pine Schools have released a schedule for high school graduations in early June and expects to hold outdoor ceremonies, unless rising COVID-19 case counts move Deschutes County into the Extreme Risk category.
