Police rescue 7 kidnap victims in Edo

The Police Command in Edo said it rescued seven kidnap victims and killed three suspected kidnappers during an operation in Ahor community.

This is contained in a statement in Benin on Monday by SP Kontongs Bello, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
Bello disclosed that in continuation of the forest and bush combing promised by CP Phillip Ogbadu, the Commissioner for Police in Edo, the tactical team of the command and the local vigilante achieved this feat.
He said that with the seven rescued victims, and the 13 rescued last Saturday, the total number of victims rescued between Saturday and Monday were now 20. ....

The Police Command in Edo on Wednesday said that it rescued two of the three persons abducted on Sunday along Ahor Bypass, on the Benin-Lagos Road.
This is contained in a statement in Benin by SP Kontongs Bello, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
Bello stated: “ Today being 28/04/2021 at about 10:30hrs, men of the Edo State Police Command rescued two kidnapped victims identified as Okeke Emmanuel ‘m’ age 37 and Rilwan Adewale ‘m’ age 36.
“They were rescued along Lagos Bypass by Ahor community, Benin City.”
He also stated that the victims were traveling in a Sienna Bus from Port Harcourt, Rivers, to Lagos before three of them were kidnapped by unknown gunmen. ....

The police in Edo State on Wednesday said they have rescued two of the three persons abducted on Sunday along Ahor Bypass, on the Benin-Lagos Road.
The police spokesperson in Edo State, Kontongs Bello, disclosed this in a statement in Benin City.

The Police Command in Edo on Wednesday disclosed that no fewer than 332 suspects have been charged to courts in the last two months.
Mr Phillip Ogbadu, the Commissioner of Police in Edo, disclosed this at a media briefing in his office in Benin, on Wednesday.
“From Feb. 5 till date, we have charged 332 suspects out of the 357 arrested within the period to various courts”, Ogbadu said.
He explained that 58 suspects were arrested for alleged kidnapping, while 100 suspects were arrested for alleged cultism.
He further explained that 81 suspects were also arrested for alleged armed robbery, and six suspects arrested for alleged rape. ....
