JAILED IN APRIL: Criminals who have faced court in last month

A man who stabbed his wife hundreds of times has today been sentenced to a minimum jail term of 18 years for her murder.
Emergency services were called to Tinling Close in Prescot to reports that 56-year-old Paula Leather had been found seriously injured at around 1.20am on Monday, November 16 2020.
Her death was confirmed a short time later.
Mrs Leather, who worked at Asda in St Helens, had suffered around 50 to 100 injuries to her face and neck and between 200 to 300 injuries to her body.
Her husband, George Leather, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
He pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. ....

Men 'repeatedly punched' victim and stamped on his head

TWO men who repeatedly punched their victim and stamped on his head in a sustained attack have been sent to prison.
Philip Roughsedge, 33, and Newton resident Mark Shephard, 32, were jailed at Liverpool Crown Court after previously pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm (GBH).
Prosecuting, Ryan Rothwell, told the court that Shephard had been at an acquaintance s house at a get together on the afternoon of Saturday, September 12 last year at which there were a number of people drinking .
Mr Rothwell said that Shephard had left the address, following a fight with another man, which was broken up by Craig Maloney, the eventual victim of the attack. ....
