BAGUIO CITY The city government needs to pool in a total amount of P5 billion to be able to fully transform its smart city vision into reality, according to Executive Assistant Philip Puzon.
Puzon said Mayor Benjamin Magalong is planning to solicit financial support from the national government
“Pasig City will be a smart city,” remarked Vice Mayor Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. as he and the rest of the Pasig City Council visited the Smart City Command Center in Baguio City as part of both local governments’ benchmarking activities on Oct. 24 to Oct. 25.

False advertisements on social media for rooms and spaces in boarding and transient houses have been victimizing students who are returning to Baguio City for the new school term after spending two years attending online classes because of restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

BAGUIO CITY More than 58,000 residents have enrolled in the Baguio In My Pocket (BIMP) free smart phone application as the city government doubled down on its registration and information campaigns aimed at enrolling every resident in the coming months.

City Mayor’s Office Chief of Staff Philip Puzon said the city has already acquired the assistance of health workers, nutrition actions officers and scholars of the barangays to assist in the endeavor.
Help will also be sought from barangay officials to speed-up the registration process, he added.
BIMP is a collection of applications aimed at promoting an e-government ecosystem to include cashless payment transactions, citizen data management, contact tracing and other essential services for local residents.
