Peters continues as Columbia s Sixth Ward representative

Peters received 51.9% of the vote, narrowly defeating Minchew by 149 votes. This marks her second reelection; she ran unopposed in 2018 and defeated Ryan Euliss by 35 votes in 2015. I m happy it wasn t as close as last time, Peters said in reference to the 2015 election. I think it s an indication that we need to keep working together in the ward and the city to at least discuss everyone s issues.   Sixth Ward residents have been overwhelmingly positive about the city moving forward through the coronavirus pandemic, according to Peters. Now, she will represent the ward for three more years. Minchew expressed his desire to serve the city in another capacity after the loss and said he hopes he can help Peters identify issues in the Sixth Ward.
