arrested. people were seen running across the tarmac. police had their guns drawn. this is happening at ft. lauderdale hollywood international airport, about three miles southwest of downtown ft. lauderdale. the shooting took place at baggage claim inside terminal 2. multiple law enforcement sources verify the shooter as esteban santiago e. he s 26. he was born in new jersey but lived in the alaska for a time. multiple sources say he had a military i.d. on him at the time of the arrest. no motive is known as of yet of the attack. we re seeing this video taken by passengers inside the airport where the shooting took place. you see bags scattered about and people wandering around moments after the shooting. that video was taken at terminal 2. you see a layout. terminal 2 is in red. a closer look inside. this was unfolding inside baggage claim, the airport has suspended as of right now all service. we have also learned within the past 30 minutes that the suspect was on a canadia
police say that report turned out to be unfounded. the only gun shots fired were down stairs in terminal two. we want to go to tracy of cape may new jersey. she joins us on the phone. you re on the tarmac right now, is that correct? yes, yes, that s correct. tell me, where were you when this whole thing started? well, we were in terminal 4, having lunch, my mom and i and my mom actually got a text from her brother from oklahoma city saying there s something going on at ft. lauderdale airport. and then it started coming up on the tv that it s in terminal two, terminal two. honestly, everybody just kind of went about their business. but i said to my mom, i don t think we re going to get home tonight. so i headed over to the ticketing area or the gate are where we were leaving and i said to the girl, i m not here to complain. are we getting out of here tonight? she goes i doubt it. i m going to go ahead and change my plane till tomorrow. and i m going to leave the airp

psychological treatment. let s go live now to new york and fox s julie bankerrdeara for the latest. multiple people dead at shooting at for fort lauderdale hollywood airport in florida. we do not know the motive. authorities initially saying several people were killed, and multiple others wounded, when a man opened fire at the airport s terminal two early friday afternoon. the active shooter shot at least 13 people, eight people as i know right now are in area hospitals being treated. i don t know the degree of their injuries. five people have succombed to their wounds, and tragically, are dead. witnesses report a man who appeared to be in his 20 s, wearing a star wars t-shirt. firing a weapon near a baggage carousel. who ever is responsible will be held accountable to the full extent of the law. the state of florida, law enforcement will not tolerate evil acts. they say the shooter was silent, was reportedly shot by police, when he tried to re-load a gun. polic
