Family Targeted: Philadelphia police say one brother was shot and another was stabbed

It began around 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the 2600 block of North Chadwick Street. Police said a 40-year-old man was stabbed at least nine times in the back. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Then approximately two and a half hours later, near the same area, police found a 32-year-old shooting victim on the 1600 block of Huntington Street. Police said 16 shots were fired. The man was shot in the chest, lower back, and leg. He was also taken to Temple. Although he was shot three times, he is in stable condition, Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
