Gens’ Phil Tomasino named to Team Canada

Oshawa Generals forward Phil Tomasino has been named to Team Canada for the 2021 World Junior Championship.
The Mississauga, Ontario native is entering his first full season with the Generals.
Tomasino was acquired last season from the Niagara IceDogs for multiple draft picks.
In 26 games with the team, he scored 18 goals and added 25 assists. He finished fourth in league scoring with 100 points.
He was the first General to hit the century point mark since alumni John Tavares and Brett MacLean both hit the milestone in 2009.
His on-ice success continued throughout the tournament’s selection camp, putting up six points in four games. ....

TSN Hockey Reporter Mark Masters reports on the World Junior Hockey Championship. Team Canada practised on Saturday at the Westerner Park Centrium in Red Deer, Alta.
On Team Canada s stacked roster nobody scored more last season than Jack Quinn who potted a whopping 52 goals in 62 games with the Ottawa 67 s. And yet Quinn had never been invited to a Hockey Canada event before the World Junior selection camp. As a result, Team Canada head coach Andre Tourigny felt Quinn was trying too hard to prove himself early on.
A little nervous right off the bat not knowing a lot of guys, Quinn admitted, but I think I settled in and got better as the camp went on and got a lot more comfortable with all the boys. It was a good transition and got better each day. ....

Team Canada unveils three-headed monster up front ahead of World Juniors

TSN Hockey Reporter Mark Masters reports on the World Junior Hockey Championship. Team Canada practised in two groups (Red & White) on Wednesday at the Westerner Park Centrium in Red Deer, Alta.
The intensity level at Hockey Canada s World Junior selection camp is rising fast. There were two practices yesterday, another practice this morning and now an intra-squad game tonight. The battle for the final roster spots is, of course, top of mind, but the coaching staff will also be looking to develop chemistry.
Returning players Dylan Cozens and Connor McMichael played together in the first two scrimmages and looked pretty good for Team White. Tonight they ll have Kirby Dach on their right wing. That trio has the potential to be really special together. McMichael is a gifted finisher who potted 47 goals in 52 games with London last season. Cozens, who racked up 85 points in 51 games with Lethbridge, can absolutely fly and the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Dach i ....
