A sculpture of Jane Austen, designed by Martin Jennings, is due to be installed in the Inner Close of Winchester Cathedral.

Winchester Cathedral hits back at criticism that its planned £100k Jane Austen statue is 'cynical cultural misappropriation' and would turn the area into 'Disneyland'

The 5 foot 7 inches statue is set to be unveiled next year in the 1000-year-old cathedral to commemorate the Pride and Prejudice writer s 250th birthday. Austen is buried at the place of worship.
