Dec 14 (Interfax) - Karelian Memorial head, historian Yury Dmitriyev has won the Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law, the International Memorial said in a statement on Monday. Karelian Memorial head Yury Dmitriyev has become a laureate of the Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law, the statement said. The prize established by the foreign ministries of France and Germany has been awarded annually since 2016 for contributing to the defense and promotion of human rights in winners countries and internationally. Besides Dmitriyev, this year s prize was won by lawyers, human rights activists, public figures, and civil activists from Lebanon, Egypt, South Sudan, Angola, China, Slovakia, and some other countries. ....
