Murray reflects on his time at Palace and reveals post-retirement plans

Former Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray recently announced that he has retired from football aged 37, bringing an end to an almost 20-year career.
Murray, who played 125 games for the Eagles and scored 47 goals after signing from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2011, sat down with the club to reflect on his time in south London and discuss his post-retirement plans.
The decision to retire was a straightforward one for Murray, as he explains: “I just sat down with my family and felt as though the time was right. The last two years haven’t been particularly good ones, especially without fans as well - that’s added into the mix. ....

Frank Nouble scored twice and Aaron Cresswell the Town goal of the season as three late first half strikes saw the Blues to a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Portman Road. Palace dominated until keeper Julian Speroni gifted Nouble his first goal for the Blues on 37, then in first half injury time Cresswell slammed in a brilliant second, before another catastrophic error, this time from Peter Ramage, led to Nouble’s second. Mick McCarthy’s men comfortably saw out the second half.
Nouble and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas returned to the Town side with Michael Chopra and Jay Tabb, who suffered a knee injury during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Hull, dropping to the bench. ....

While operating successful business Marto s Mangoes alongside his family, Mr Martin also spent a decade working with the council and has volunteered his time to serve on numerous committees.
He joined the Murroona Gardens board in the late 1990s and has been chairman of the board for the past eight years.
He also served eight years on the NQ Dry Tropics board and remains a member of the community reference group for Bowen Hospital.
They re very worthy causes, every one of those are working for the community, Mr Martin said.
We ve got a great town and great lifestyle here and it can only get better if we do our bit. ....
