It wasn't the beginning game we all hoped for after the Trenton Acadians' magical run through the Northeast American Legion Regional Championship. The Acadians lost to defending champions Troy Post 13-3 on Thursday evening in their opening game. The Acadians are back at it Friday afternoon, when they play Cheyenne, Wyoming at 4p.m. Friday's game is on ESPN3.
The Trenton Acadians lost for the 1st time Saturday, in the double-elimination Northeast Regional in Worcester, falling to Greece, New York, 13-1, in a 5-inning run-ruled game.
The #1 Old Town Coyotes beat the #3 Ellsworth Eagles 5-0 in the Class B North Regional Finals on Wednesday, June 14th. UMaine recruit Gabe Gifford threw a 2-hitter for the Coyotes.
