Army to summon Ondo lawyer alleging camping of 3,000 Fulani

A legal practitioner, Mr Wale Odusola, has said there are about 3,000 Fulani men taking shelter inside the Okitipupa Army Barrack in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Odusola stated this barely 24 hours after the state government returned 45 northern youths, who were apprehended by the men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, to their home towns.
Odusola posted his allegation on his Facebook page on Sunday, adding that his independent findings showed that the Fulani men had been given an open land in the barracks to build shelters. ....

There was tension among the residents of Okitipupa, the headquarters of the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State as no fewer than 45 youths from the northern part of the country were arrested by men of the Ondo State Security Network, also known as Amotekun Corps.
It was gathered that the youths, conveyed in a truck, were intercepted in front of the Okitipupa Army Barracks at about 10pm on Thursday and were taken to Akure, the state capital.
Many residents of the town, who gathered at the scene, expressed apprehension that the northern youths were in the town to cause havoc. ....

ONDO State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has appealed to members of the All Progressives Congress in the state, to show commitment to the party by paying their membership dues.
The governor made the appeal while receiving the report of the APC Membership Revalidation and Registration Committee, in Akure, on Tuesday.

• Speeding bus crushes two okada riders in Ondo
One person was confirmed dead as a commercial bus collided with two vehicles at the Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza area of Lekki in Lagos State on Monday.
It was gathered that the accident, which occurred around 8am, involved a black Volkswagen commercial bus with plate number FKJ123YC, a black Highlander SUV and one other vehicle.

The three construction workers, who were abducted last week on the Ikaramu-Akunnu Akoko Road in Ondo State, have been set free.
It was gathered that the victims, who were abducted by gunmen while rehabilitating the road, regained their freedom on Sunday after spending four days in captivity.
However, it could not be confirmed if ransom was paid before the victims were released.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the development, saying the combined efforts of the men of the command and other security agencies made the freedom of the victims possible. ....
