Black Cat Ice Cream is taking its name literally this weekend.
In what founder Alex Carter hopes is the first of many, the ice cream shop is partnering with The Pet Bistro, a customizable dog treat and food store in Des Moines, and the DeSoto-based AHeinz57 Pet Rescue to host an adoption event Sunday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
True to the business s namesake, the event will feature three adult black cats Mama, Baby Bean and Ouzo as well as four multicolored kittens named Bumble, Stanley, Terri and Ivy. Carter hopes to make adoption events a monthly occurrence. ....
