Peru s superfoods managed to conquer the palate of British buyers thanks to the Virtual Trade Mission developed for the United Kingdom which focused on processed frozen/canned fruits and vegetables closing deals for US$2 million, the Peruvian Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) reported on Wednesday.
This event saw the participation of six British buyers and eight Peruvian exporters of processed foods, representing the regions of Piura, Lambayeque, and Lima.
Mission members held a total of 26 meetings. Among the most demanded products were mangoes, strawberries, blueberries, and avocados.
In less than three weeks, commitments to purchase canned fruits were generated for a total of US$500,000 for the remainder of 2021, and US$1.5 million for 2022.
