Colgate University is soon to begin a number of major development projects that, in addition to upgrading landscaping, aim to improve access in and around campus. These projects include the creation of Peter’s Glen, a revitalized pathway through the developing Middle Campus that will lead into an improved plaza at the current Frank Dining Hall.

Michael Shellenberger Gives Controversial Lecture Discussing Alternative Climate Change Solutions

On Tuesday, Nov. 29, Michael Shellenberger, founder and president of Environmental Progress, co-founder of the Breakthrough Institute and the California Peace Coalition, and former candidate for governor of California, gave a lecture and discussion at Colgate University titled “Climate Change and Sustainable Energy: How Practical is Renewable Energy?” The talk was sponsored by the Center.

Springfest 2024 to Occur Without Concert

Students recently learned there will be no large-scale concert for this upcoming Springfest over an email sent on Jan. 18 from GetInvolved. The email instead urged students to plan a concert or other activities with their own student organizations. Many students, upset about the change, expressed their grievances anonymously on social media, with some misled.

Updated Speed Limits and Signage Promote Safety, Community on Campus Roadways

In the past few weeks, Colgate University’s Facilities Department and President Brian W. Casey have made improvements to the University’s road safety. The crosswalk on Alumni Road in front of Persson Hall now reads “Stop Look Wave.” Additionally, all campus speed limit signs are now 13 miles per hour.  Associate Vice President for Emergency Management,.
