Thousands of people have already left, those who remain have been told there are two safe routes to the south, one to the centre of the gaza strip and one along the coast. They have been told to move south. Israeli troops say they are preparing to hunt down and destroy hamas, which is regarded as a Terror Organisation by many western governments, including the uk.
