There’s a certain irony that the motion came from Pemberton, a picturesque mountain town of roughly 2,500 people on unceded Lil’wat Nation territory, itself named after a Hudson’s Bay Company surveyor who never set foot there. In the end, only 40 per cent of fellow municipalities voted to seek a provincial rebranding. ....
