Anglesey council backs carbon neutrality masterplan after formally declaring 'climate emergency'

MORE details have been revealed on Anglesey Council’s masterplan to try to achieve carbon neutrality within a decade.
Last September, the authority formally declared a climate emergency after backing a motion urging the need for action.
On the back of that vote, it has endeavoured to work towards a carbon neutral public sector by 2030, which includes working with other councils on a nationwide basis, with an initial budget of between £400,000 and £600,000 being mooted.
Labour councillor John Arwel Roberts’ successful motion asked the council to follow the Welsh Government’s lead, which declared such an emergency in 2019, while committing to helping other sections of the economy move away from fossil fuels. ....
