(KPLC) - The Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana received a special holiday gift from LL Flooring as a thank-you for their work helping the community during the recovery from Hurricane Larua and Delta. LL Flooring commissioned its long-time partner, Pennwood Products, to hand-craft a wooden American flag, made from 50-year-old legacy pinewood. LL Flooring and Pennwood are also donating the wood-made flags to four fire departments across the country for their service to their communities this year. ....
A wooden American flag made from a 50-year-old legacy pinewood sits in front of the lockers at the McKenzie Fire and Rescue Station in Leaburg. The flag was a gift from national flooring retailer LL Flooring as a token of appreciation for the first responders after a long year of challenges, including historic wildfires in Oregon. LL Flooring, formerly known as Lumber Liquidators, commissioned its longtime partner, Pennwood Products, to craft the wooden flags. The companies donated the flags to four other fire departments around the country. McKenzie Fire Chief Darren Bucich hangs a wooden American flag in its temporary home with the help of Samantha McCullough, the LL Flooring Eugene store manager, after receiving the gift Wednesday.
