Charges pending for man who allegedly shot and killed cat on Christmas Day: PSP Montoursville

Hughesville, Pa. – Charges are pending for a man who allegedly shot and killed a woman’s cat on Christmas Day in Lycoming County. According to Pennsylvania State Police at Montoursville, Patrick Dieter attempted to remove his ex-roommate’s cat from a residence on Mohawk Drive in Wolf Township. The cat, namede Solo, ran into a corner of the bathroom. Dieter reportedly grabbed his crossbow and fired a bolt at the cat, just missing him. “This enraged Dieter’s dog, at which point he decided he had to kill Solo,” Trooper Paul Beard wrote in a news release. Dieter fired a second bolt which struck Solo in the head and killed him. Dieter then disposed of the body along a roadway, according to state police.

Woman charged for allegedly wielding knife during argument: PSP Montoursville

Muncy, Pa. – State police responded to a report of an altercation in Lycoming County involving two women wielding a knife and an ashtray toward their victims. Carolyn Hockenberry, 60, of Muncy, now faces misdemeanor assault charges for the incident that occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. on December 15 in Fairfield Township. A second woman, Megan Hunter, 36, of Muncy, was cited for harassment.  State police were called to a residence at Ruben Kehrer Road for a reported altercation involving Hockenberry, Hunter, and two victims, including an older man and a woman. Hockenberry had wielded a knife and threatened to stab one of the victims, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Montoursville.

Grinch who broke car windows in Lycoming County arrested: PSP Montoursville

Montoursville, Pa. – A 50-year-old woman was arrested for breaking the windows of multiple vehicles in Montoursville, Loyalsock Township and Williamsport on Christmas Eve, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Montoursville. Marie LeCrone, of Montoursville, was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman. She was remanded to Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. Police departments in Montoursville, Williamsport, as well as PSP received numerous calls early Thursday morning from victims reporting someone had broken their car windows and windshields. Multiple Facebook posts on Thursday morning made by upset victims showed vehicles with windows completely smashed out. Many had to cover their windows with tarps due to heavy rains forecasted on Thursday.
