FLY-TIPPING is not a victimless crime , warns South Lakeland District Council after four serious incidents in the past few weeks.
SLDC is reminding the public that they could be fined £50,000 if they are caught fly-tipping following a space of incidents.
Among those was the discovery of 25 blue bags containing builders’ waste which was dumped on Bardsea beach last Wednesday,
A spokesman for SLDC said: “It is almost certain that the fly-tippers would have needed to use a vehicle to dump such a large amount of waste, so if anyone saw a large vehicle or van containing blue bags in the Bardsea area on Wednesday we would like to hear from them. ....
