The order issued by Karnataka’s transport department has set uniform minimum fares for both app-based cabs and city taxis depending upon vehicle cost. This will require ride-hailing companies to rework their business models in the state and search for new ways to remain competitive.
Uber Rewards Programme: The company has been piloting this programme in Delhi-NCR, and is now rolling it out in more cities. This comes at a time when the cab aggregator industry has faced supply issues, with drivers moving out from platforms on account of decreasing earnings, in addition to the competition in the space intensifying.
