Three candidates hoping to replace Assessor Grant Dorman gave their best sales pitch to commissioners, area residents and county employees on why they should be hired for the job.
The trio Dan Rose, Thomas Brown and Dennis Engelhardt were selected by the Bonner County Republican Central Committee as finalists for the seat. The three got their chance to pitch their selection to the Board of Bonner County Commissioners at a two-hour interview on Tuesday.
In initial results, comprised of absentee and early voters, the West Bonner County School District's proposed levy has 205 yes votes, or 59.52%, and 140 no votes, or 40.58%. The levy needs a simple majority to pass.
The West Bonner County School District levy was turned down by voters Tuesday, losing by just over 100 votes.
In the race for the lone open seat on the East Bonner County Library District board, incumbent Susan Shea won reelection to the board with 4,514 votes, or 59%. Challenger Stacy Rodriguez had 3,137 votes, or 41%.
There is something for everyone in Tuesday's election.
