Five volunteers for community speed watch team A community speed watch team is being set up in Pembroke Dock, aiming to educate drivers about the need to drive within the legal limits Pembroke Dock will be joining six other community speed watch teams across Pembrokeshire, all of which aim to educate drivers rather than prosecute them. At Pembroke Dock Town Council s meeting on Thursday, June 3, a total of five candidates were chosen to be a part of the scheme. Together with support from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team they will monitor the speeds of vehicles around the area. Anyone who they do find speeding will be referred to the police - for educational purposes. ....
Former Llanion CP school pupils have called the demolition of their old primary school a disappointment. Over the past few weeks work has been ongoing on a site next to Pembroke Dock Harlequins rugby club, turning what was once a primary school - and later a training centre - into a KFC drive-thru takeaway. Huw Richards, a former pupil, said: I have no problem with them putting a KFC there; it might have been nicer to have a community hub or something, but the least they could have done is to use the building. The Victorian building was used as a primary school for 84 years, after being constructed in 1891. ....
Details of anonymous fly tipper have been found Pennar s anonymous fly tipper is standing on thin ice with Pembroke Dock Town Council who recently announced a warning aimed at people dumping rubbish in town. The statement read: For the past few weeks someone has been fly tipping black bags of take away boxes etc, outside Pennar Hall. I went through them today and I now have your bank details plus a name so no more or I will pass details on. If the town council was to pass on details of the offender to Pembrokeshire County Council it could lead to the person either being prosecuted or receiving a fixed penalty notice. ....
Visitors are once again allowed into the Military Cemetery in Pembroke Dock. The cemetery was closed during the last week as storms caused large branches to fall from one of the trees. In a statement given by Pembroke Dock Town Council on Wednesday, May 5 they said: It has been identified that a large tree on the west wall of the Military Cemetery has taken damage losing a limb to the floor and two damaged limbs remaining in the tree. To ensure the safety of visitors the gates have been closed until the damaged limbs have been made safe and removed. ....
