PEKIN, Ill. Harper spends a lot of her time helping kids learn to read with the “Paws to Read” program and visiting nursing homes.
But, now she’s got something quite impressive on her resume.
The 7-year-old Border Collie, a rescue from T.A.P.S. in Pekin, has been chosen to represent her fellow rescue dogs in the national “Indoguration” honoring Major Biden, one of President-Elect Joe Biden’s two German Shepherds.
The event was sponsored by the Delaware Humane Society, where Major Biden was adopted, and Pumpkin Insurance, a pet insurance company.
Major will be the first rescue dog to live in the White House. ....
