The Amarillo Police Department said its Traffic Investigation Squad is investigating a Sunday night hit-and-run fatality involving a cyclist.
Per a Monday morning APD media release, on Sunday at 9:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Eastern Street regarding a possible crash with a person in the roadway.
The APD indicated upon arrival on the scene, officers located Dallas Black McBeth, 36, deceased, noting the area of impact was located in the 700 block of Eastern Street. According to the media release, McBeth had been riding a bicycle northbound in the 700 block of South Eastern Street when he was struck from the rear by a vehicle.
