McMichael claims 2A East crown, downs North Lenoir for spot in title match

McMichael earned its first appearance in a state volleyball title match by defeating North Lenoir 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-21) in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A East final on Tuesday night.
The Phoenix (17-1) will take on reigning 2A state champion Fred T. Foard in Saturday s championship match, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Green Level High School in Cary. The Tigers defeated West Wilkes 3-0 in the 2A West final. ....
