PANAMA CITY Red, White & Q debuts Memorial Day weekend at McKenzie Park in the heart of downtown, boasting Southern flair and fare with a BBQ competition, cornhole tournament and country music. One of our board members is a big barbecue enthusiast; he wanted to bring something similar to Memphis in May, said Lori Allen, executive director of the Gulf Coast Children s Advocacy Center (GCCAC). This is our first year with a dozen competitors and we plan on moving it to a sanctioned event next year. They love that it s Memorial Day weekend and this is a destination. Collaborating with the City of Panama City, the inaugural event sponsored by Payton Air benefits the GCCAC. ....
