A new variety-pack of beer will help support local businesses

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Paul Santora, owner of Santora’s Pizza Pub and Grill is on a mission to help save local restaurants.
“We knew it was going to be a rough road for us, but we would get through it, Santora s said. But I knew a lot of people in the restaurant industry who may not, and I was just really interested in helping them out.”
In December, Santora started the not for profit Revive Western New York Restaurants. Their goal — to provide financial support for independent restaurants in need.
“We’ve gotten so many responses of people who said, you know, we’ve been trying to figure out how to help restaurants in the Western New York area, and this is just the perfect avenue to do so,” Santora said. ....

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) — Supreme Court Judge Paul Wojtaszek issued a temporary restraining order saying the State Liquor Authority must give Santora s, Papi Grande and Prescott Provisions their liquor licenses back. These restaurants are part of the group of more than 90 that have sued the state to reopen indoor dining.
On December 31, the owner of Santora s Pizza Pub and Grill, Paul Santora, appeared on Fox and Friends with attorneys from HoganWillig to discuss the lawsuit against the state. Hours later, the State Liquor Authority stripped Santoras of their liquor license, saying they did not have proper ventilation on their patio. ....

'Staggering' losses reported by restaurants suing over Covid-19 safety precautions


The financial losses reach into the millions at the establishments familiar to everyone: Duff’s Famous Wings and Santora s Pizza Pub and Grill.
But the losses in the tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars are every much as crushing to the smaller restaurants better known in their own locales, like Londa s Diner in Depew and Raphael s in Hamburg.
Two dozen Buffalo area restaurants – big and small, with offerings from pub food to Italian cuisine, but all under an indoor-dining ban – submitted court affidavits this week detailing more than $10 million in financial losses for 2020 and 856 job cuts since March. They re among the 70 restaurants that signed on to a State Supreme Court lawsuit seeking a relaxation of state Covid-19 safety precautions. ....
