READERS have been reacting to the news that Stanwix is officially the best place to live in Carlisle. More than 3,000 people responded to a News and Star poll asking which part of the city was the place to be - and more than a third of those who responded picked Stanwix and Houghton as their favourite. Councillor Paul Neved, who represents Stanwix and Houghton on Carlisle City Council, was delighted with the result - but added that he was not surprised. Residents too were pleased with the news, and made their feelings known on social media. Deborah Avci said: We love living in Stanwix and we live in a friendly cul-de-sac, while Liz Ault added: Born and brought up in Stanwix and proud of it! ....
