While scientists were able to create and test COVID-19 vaccines in nearly unimaginable, record-breaking time, the administration of vaccines across the U.S. has been bumpy, slow and inequitable.
What’s to blame for the messy rollout?
“The classic trap that the U.S. fell into … is we did not put the same energy into how we were going to deliver the vaccine that we put into the science of creating the vaccine,” said Emily Bancroft, president of VillageReach, a Seattle-based global health nonprofit founded in 2000 that helps with vaccine delivery in underserved communities.

The last month of 2020 hit Seattle bars and restaurants hard as statewide COVID-19 restrictions that banned indoor dining stretched into a second month.
While many had comfortably shifted to operating at a reduced capacity indoors early on in the fall, the new rules which Gov. Jay Inslee extended into January this week forced tired restaurateurs to once again pivot to takeout and outdoor seating, even as the days got rainier and temperatures dropped.

A loophole in Wisconsin campaign finance law allows individuals to make unlimited donations to political parties, and also allows political parties to make unlimited donations to candidates. If an individual wants to donate directly to a candidate, there are limits based on state and federal law. But not if they give through a party.
Here’s who is taking advantage of that loophole in Wisconsin, according to campaign finance records.
