University of Glasgow - University news - UofG establishes interdisciplinary network to further links with Malawi

The University of Glasgow is furthering its long-term commitment to working with organisations in Malawi with the establishment of an interdisciplinary collaboration network, bringing together colleges from across the University.
The overall aim of the network is to make lasting impacts on Malawian health and wellbeing by forming long-term partnerships that enrich both Malawian and Scottish academic cultures.
The Malawi Glasgow Network for Interdisciplinary Collaboration (MaGNetIC) will bring together colleagues involved in all UofG’s longstanding collaborations in Malawi to ensure consistency of engagement and establish a coherent framework aimed at enhancing all interactions for both Malawian and Scottish partners. ....

Sir Tom Moore boosts Norfolk's hospitals | Norwich Evening News

The lasting legacy of the likes of Captain Sir Tom Moore has been highlighted by figures showing almost £1m of charity money has been donated to support Norfolk s frontline workers and patients.
NHS Charities Together has awarded £946,400 to the charitable trusts of the regions three hospitals and community health service from its Covid Emergency fund, which received a turbo boost from the fundraising efforts of the late Captain Sir Tom Moore.
In Norfolk, it has meant the charity has given £238,600 to the James Paget University Hospital, £394,600 to the Norfolk and Norwich, £154,600 to Norfolk Community Health and Care Trust and £158,600 to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital charitable organisations to use towards projects supporting staff and patients. ....

A joint healthcare project between Scotland and Malawi has been recognised for best practice by the European Commission.
The Blantyre-Blantyre project between the University of Glasgow and the College of Medicine (CoM) of the University of Malawi shares expertise between the two institutions.
Its aim has been to establish a clinical laboratory facility at CoM to boost development of research and training programmes, medical interventions and policy development in Malawi around non-communicable diseases and their interface with infectious diseases, especially tuberculosis and malaria. ....
