Jackson County Mardi Gras parades latest COVID victims

JACKSON COUNTY, Mississippi It appears the good times will not roll in 2021.
Mardi Gras krewes and organizations across the Mississippi coast, as well as New Orleans and Mobile, have announced the cancellation of most carnival parades for 2021 amidst continuing COVID-19 concerns and it appears the five largest parades in Jackson County will also fall victim to the virus outbreak.
A few weeks ago, Ocean Springs aldermen gave approval for the annual Ocean Springs Elks Parade, scheduled for Jan. 30. Now, however, with most other parades being or soon to be cancelled, aldermen are set to meet in a special call meeting Wednesday night to discuss the issue. ....
