Coös Family Health honors staff March 03, 2021BERLIN On the evening of Thursday, Feb. 26, the staff and board of directors of Coös County Family Health gathered online to recognize the milestone anniversaries and outstanding performance of staff during the past year. Family Health is the main provider of primary medical care in the Androscoggin Valley region, and has served the community for more than 46 years. During the past year, agency staff have worked closely with health and social service providers throughout the region to ensure the community s needs were met during the Covid-19 pandemic. After introductory remarks by Board President, H. Guy Stever, and Chief Executive Officer, Ken Gordon, several staff were recognized for their outstanding achievements. ....
ANDROSCOGGIN VALLEY â My adventure with the COVID-19 vaccination process began the same as everyone else in my age group on Jan. 23 when people 65 and over were advised to apply for an appointment on the CDC Vaccine Administration Management System website by the state of New Hampshire. I went online to register for an appointment for myself and my wife, Kathy. I started online at about 9 a.m. At first, I could not find any available appointments closer than Littleton. In frustration, I gave up and left my Gorham house to do some errands. I knew that vaccine doses were going to be distributed at the former Brown School in Berlin. ....
Health officials address concerns about vaccine availability January 06, 2021BERLIN While there is broad support for health care providers and nursing home residents to be among the first to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, community members are asking when the vaccine will be available to the general public. As it turns out, the answer is complicated, and depends upon a variety of factors, most of which are outside the control of local health officials. According to Ken Gordon, CEO of Coös County Family Health Services (CCFHS), health care organizations in the region are prepared to administer the vaccine to area residents when additional supplies of the vaccine become available, and when federal and state officials authorize them to do so. ....
