Patton Township Supervisors on Wednesday night approved final plans for a new micro-hospital and medical office building near Colonnade Boulevard and Waddle Road. Penn Highlands Healthcare will construct the three-story, 82,000-square-foot micro-hospital and 32,000-square-foot, two-story office building on the northwest side of the Patton Town Center development, near Cracker Barrel and Sheetz. Township planner Nicole Pollock said the new medical facilities will complete the buildout of the 16.26-acre site. “The micro-hospital is a mini version of a general acute care hospital… just on a smaller scale,” Greg Bauer, chief business development officer for Penn Highlands, said David Nitchkey, of project designer Core Architects, said on Wednesday that construction is expected to begin in early fall and take about 18 months to complete. ....
